Fellowship Catalyst Award
The Fellowship Catalyst Award provides up to £85,000 for high‑potential candidates who are preparing a specific fellowship application or have been shortlisted for a particular scheme, offering focused support to strengthen application quality and improve success rates. Running over 12 to 18 months, the programme offers protected research time alongside tailored mentorship, resources, and training aligned to individual needs. Support is structured around the submission timelines of key target schemes, with flexibility to deliver discipline‑centred support where this better meets the candidate’s objectives.
Eligibility
- Open to early and mid-career researchers (Post PhD 2 to 10 years in research).
- Candidates must be working on a specific application or must have already been shortlisted for a specific scheme.
- Applicants must have a concept note or a clearly defined idea for a fellowship
- Must have identified target funder(s) or fellowship scheme(s).
The programme includes:
- Scheme Specific mentorship groups
- Webinars
- Fellowship writing bootcamps
- Pre-fellowship knowledge and networking events
- Interview preparations
- Peer review

APPLICATION PROCESS
Application Timeline
- Open Call – Applications accepted on a rolling basis
- Proposals must demonstrate that fellowship submission is likely within 12 months

- Submit a completed Fellowship Catalyst Award Application Form.
- Applications will be reviewed by the DRSH Grants Panel, and successful applicants will be notified by email.
