Our Mission

To significantly contribute to building a sustainable, representative, and internationally competitive science leadership in Africa, promoting diversity, inclusivity, and equity.

Our Aim

To establish a Hub to support early- and mid-career researchers in Malawi and across the wider SADC region in developing competitive grant applications for international fellowships.

Our Story

Our logo symbolizes the strength and beauty found in collaboration, reflecting the belief that "two heads are better than one." In an ever-evolving research landscape, early and mid-career researchers (ECRs and MCRs) face significant challenges transitioning to research independence, with a sharp drop in successfully funded fellowships and grants. Recognizing this gap, we have united with ECRs and MCRs to co-develop a solution that fosters community support and resilience.

Sharing Knowledge

The saying that two heads are better than one is depicted by the 6 human icons sharing one common head, the hub. This shows how the hub empowers all with the same knowledge and funding to drive research.
