Eligibility
Eligibility for the Hub is open to early and mid-career researchers who are between 2 to 10 years post-PhD in research experience. It is designed to support researchers within this career stage who are actively building their independent research career trajectory.
Who is an Early-Career Researcher (ECR)
The drsh definition of an Early Career Researcher (ECR) is as follows:
- 2-5 years post-PhD (in research years)
- May be managing their own research project under the mentorship of a senior investigator, and are beginning to develop their own research ideas and directions.
- should not need close supervision to complete their proposed research, although may need training in new techniques and experimental approaches.
Note: These periods exclude any career break due to family care; health reasons or increased teaching load. All time will equate time spent on research. Career diversions will be taken into individual basis.
Who is a Mid-Career Researcher (MCR)
The drsh definition of a Mid-Career Researcher (MCR) is as follows:
- 5 to 10 years post-PhD (in research years)
- Has established a track record of publications, presentations, and some grant funding.
- Focused on consolidating their expertise, expanding their research portfolio, and seeking opportunities for advancement within academia, industry, or other research-focused sectors
