ABOUT
The Discovery Research Support Hub (DSR Hub) is a Wellcome-funded initiative, aimed at supporting early and mid-career reseachers to transition to research indipendence. We have co-developed a solution with early and mid-career growth and ability to attract competitive funding in the current environment. The hub is hosted by Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Research Programme in Blantyre, Malawi.

Targeted Support Programme Call
This is a targeted support scheme tailor-made for candidates who are preparing a specific application or have already been shortlisted for a specific program. The support offered by the hub is aimed at improving the quality of the application and the success rates following submission. Timetables of activities will be based on the submission timetables of key target schemes. There is flexibility for those candidates whose needs include support that may be best

How to Apply
Review Process
- Early career researchers (2-5 years post PhD)
- Mid-career researchers (5-10 years post PhD)
- Candidates must be working on a specific application or must have already been shortlisted for a specific scheme.
- A detailed CV with a notarized copy of your academic qualification (s).
- A one-page structured research concept, including title, introduction/objectives, and budget.
- Letter of intent of not more than 500 words, explaining why you are applying for the targeted scheme and what your intended outputs are. Details of specific shortlisted scheme or application being prepared for, including expected submission dates
- Applications must be sent to discoveryhub@mlw.mw
- Documents should be sent in the applicant's name as one (1) PDF file with the following pattern "Surname_GivenNames_Targeted_Application."

- The review process will take 4 weeks.
- All applications received will be acknowledged. Those being considered or declined will be informed within 2 weeks of acknowledgement of receipt (depending on the shortlisted scheme deadline).
- Accepted candidates will be informed 2 weeks after acknowledgement email and will be scheduled for initial needs assessment appointment (appointment can be in person or online).
