Cecelia Shammim Saidi

Head of Training and Development

Cecelia Shammim Saidi is the MLW Head of Training and Development, leading initiatives that support researcher development across different stages of the academic career pathway. She works closely with DRSH to connect research funding support with training, mentorship, and career development, helping researchers build the skills and capabilities needed to progress and compete internationally.

Her work spans five stages of academic development—Pre-Master’s, Master’s, Pre-PhD, Doctoral, and early Postdoctoral—with a particular focus on strengthening the pipeline of emerging researchers and future scientific leaders in Africa.

Cecellia holds an MEd in Educational Sciences, specializing in Educational Leadership and Administration, a BSc in Counselling Psychology, and is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) credentialed coach (ACC). Her expertise in Psychology, Talent Management and Leadership informs the design and delivery of researcher development initiatives, ensuring that MLW training responds to the evolving needs of researchers at different career stages.
