Kate Mangulama

Hub Lead

Kate Mangulama leads the Discovery Research Support Hub (DRSH), setting its strategic direction and leading the implementation of its programmes, partnerships, and researcher support activities. As the founding Hub Manager, she helped establish and build DRSH from its inception before progressing to Hub Lead.

Kate has over 10 years of experience in research management, project management, programme delivery, and research funding support. She has previously managed research groups and their operations and brings extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and developing effective research support systems.

Kate holds a Higher Education Diploma in International Relations and Global Politics from Nottingham Trent University and a BA from Monash University, with a double major in International Relations and Criminology and a minor in Sociology. She is currently pursuing an MBA in Project Management at the University of Sunderland.

Kate is particularly passionate about strengthening research ecosystems, building connections, partnerships, and support structures that enable researchers and institutions to thrive.
